La Savonnerie

A lovely small gift shop with its unique soap factory on the same location.

Since 1996 La Savonnerie is located in the Jordan area of Amsterdam, in the middle of the famous shopping area The Nine Streets.

Let overwhelming fragrances amaze you and enjoy the colourful display of our hand made soaps and matching knitted towels. The product range includes for example hand printed tea towels, shampoo bars, soap on a rope, handmade Dutch toiletry bags, organic scented candles, showergels and so on.

You will easily find all sorts of gifts.

Our home made soaps are made of certified sustainable palm oil and is as delicate as baby soap. We have over 70 different fragrances and for people with extra sensitive skin we offer also a range of unscented soaps, containing natural oils.

After having visited the Provence area in France with its well known soap and perfume guilds, new inspiration came to life to recreate a similar ambience in the Netherlands.

This is how the existance of La Savonnerie arose in 1996 in 'the 9 streets' of Amsterdam.  

From that moment soaps were hand made on the premises according to French recipes.

Apart from soaps other related products and gifts are offered as well. That is how the store became a lovely fragranced, sweet looking, original gift shop.
